Today I want to share my favorite preschool activities and crafts with you.
I currently have 2 preschoolers, both boys and a little girl (toddler) hot on their tracks! I could certainly use all the preschool activities I can get my hands on for the boys who are always looking for something new to do or learn.
Gathered below from some awesome blogs are 14 preschool activities and crafts I have either tried or am about to try.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do and share it with your friends but most importantly, have fun making and playing with your preschoolers. Enjoy!
(The links to the below preschool activities and crafts will open in new windows when clicked.)
1. Easy Kaleidoscope from Melissa at The Chocolate Muffin Tree made out of a Pringles can! I can totally see my boys exploring this preschool activity and crafting it will certainly bring much chatting and fun.
2. DIY: Cardboard Road Way Play from Anna at The Imagination Tree. Cardboard is certainly a favorite in my house and with 2 boys there are certainly plenty of cars to go around for this activity.
3. Creativity with crayons and water paints from Alisa at Redefine Creativity. Use crayons to create a resist with watercolors. So many possibilities for this with art projects and at home preschool activities.
4. Play Dough equals occupied by Nicolette. Toddler or preschool activity, the kids love play dough, we have done many things with play dough ranging from caterpillars that turn into butterflies to sticking all sorts of objects in and then driving over it to see what kind of tracks and prints things would make on the surface.
5. Get into the Garden with the kids, I love RedTedArt’s post on Thrifty garden ideas and plan to be making some planters out of cardboard tubes soon for the boys to teach them more about gardening and seeds.
6. Under the Sea Preschool Craft {Preschool at Home} by Daisy Cottage is a fun craft to explore an under the sea theme, something I have added to my “must teach” list.
7. How to make Craft Binoculars for Kids by Nicolette. There is nothing better than crafting something and then going to go play with it! For this preschool craft our main intent was to go bird watching!
8. Next on my must do list is this awesome Paper roll shape stamps craft from Mamma Pappa Babba, perfect for my toddler to learn and it can be used as a preschool activity or art project. The plus side of doing this craft is that if you use the long roll of white paper you can turn the kids art project into wrapping paper!
9. A Fun Way to Teach Counting, What kid doesn’t love rocks? We sure do! Sam from Thrive 360 Living has some of the most beautiful and creative ideas for using rocks in every day play with toddlers and preschoolers.
10. Experiments with Color and Flowers by Nicolette. Science experiments get more popular as the kids get older and love to see reaction to their actions. For this preschool activity we took some white flowers put them in color water and watched as they transformed to color!
11. Engage in pretend play with a mask! The “E” is for Elephant mask from Kate at Cheap Crafty Mama is perfect for this preschool activity turned game.
12. Learn about the body and how it works on a Life-Sized Body Map from Marylea at Pink and Green Mama. I’m thinking this is perfect to teach my boys about where their food goes and why it hurts when they drop rocks on their feet or are cut and bleed. Boys tend to be ruff.
13. Then for an extra fun and sometimes messy preschool activity let the kids into the kitchen by having them bake and decorate gingerbread men, tasty and fun!
14. Make some homemade giant bubbles, Jackie from Happy Hooligans shares how to make the biggest bubbles ever with a few simple kitchen ingredients.
The last gem in preschool activities I would like to share is to just let the kids play! Preschoolers can learn, explore and create some of the most amazing things when left to their own devices.
