After recently reading a blog post on Busy House Big Heart about a One Word Challenge and the reasons for her choice word, a word sprung up into my mind.
I then went about my morning, making the kids their breakfasts, changing of nappies, putting the dishes to get washed, picking up toys, feeding the baby and then putting her down for her nap.
The word was still with me.
I went back to the post to click some of the links included, to see what it was all about, and found this, the motive behind the word.
What do you want to focus on in 2013?
It can be something tangible or intangible. It can be a thought, a feeling, an action, or a character trait. Your word will be a reminder, a nudge. Something you can reflect on, that will challenge you, that will inspire you.
Your word can be anything you want it to be. All that matters is that it has personal meaning for you.
This is your word. It needs to resonate with your heart, no one else’s.

The word, still tugged. The word that is calling me is, LIVE.
Live, life
Live, family
Live, grow
Live, explore
Live, be inspired
Live, shine
Live, enjoy
Live, be driven
To Live is the reason my little family moved to the other side of the world. To LIVE, grow and shine in the sun.For good measure, I did a dictionary look up. Here’s what Dictionary.com says:
live
1. to have life, as an organism; be alive; be capable of vital functions: all things that live.2. to continue to have life; remain alive: to live to a ripe old age.3. to continue in existence, operation, memory, etc.; last: a book that lives in my memory.4. to maintain or support one’s existence; provide for oneself: to live on one’s income.5. to feed or subsist (usually followed by on or upon ): to live on rice and bananas.6. to dwell or reside (usually followed by in, at, etc.): to live in a cottage.7. to pass life in a specified manner: They lived happily ever after.8. to direct or regulate one’s life: to live by the golden rule.9. to experience or enjoy life to the full: At 40 she was just beginning to live.10. to cohabit (usually followed by with ).

What an interesting blog. I thought I would add a male voice to this. There are many words that I could choose(all clean). I think that if push came to shove I would choose family and I would choose this over and over again. Without family you are a poorer person and life would be long and lonely (Daddy to 3 girls).

Hi Nicolette, I’m Anne from Life on the Funny Farm (http://annesfunnyfarm.blogspot.com), and I’m visiting from Thumping Thursdays.
This is a great idea. But what would my word be? Hmmm….I’ll give it some thought and then pop back over!
Anyway, thanks for posting this. If you’ve never visited yet, I hope you can pop by my blog sometime to say hi…
Nicolette Roux says
Thanks for popping in!

I really like this! Live! I saw this on Victoria’s blog also and felt compelled to join in. I won’t reveal my word yet 😛 I think it will be better with some explanation. But I’ll post a link once I get a chance to write up a post. I must stop researching SEO and WP plugins and focus on writing!

I get obsessed with plugins.. Will check out your “word” post as soon as your done 😀
