One of the things I always try to do is use my childs current interest to teach. Lately LEGO is seriously on the interest increase! My just turned 3 year old is big on copying her older brother (6) so today we did a bit of counting with some LEGO.
First up a bit of collecting! Can we find all the same bricks? Go hunting.
Next set out the bricks by counting them in rows. Even better if you color code them!
Then count them again as you stack them in towers.
Oh wow! it made a staircase! Can your LEGO man climb this? Can he count the steps as he goes up?
My 3 year old loves dinosaurs so instead of a LEGO man she used her little dino! Next the dino knocked down each tower as she counted.
Who knew we could get so much counting in just with a few LEGO bricks!
IN ACTION!
