My last craft for the season is finally done! The tree topper that I am rather proud of I might add. Although not kid made because of the loose “mad hatter” glitter element, it fits beautifully on the tree.

I found a lovely tutorial over at Hello Lidy to make this. Unfortunately for me, she used already glittered paper. Which I do not have. So little DIY me kicked in. I printed the shapes off her picture and cut them out tracing onto a firm black cardboard sheet.
To make this cute Glitter tree topper.
Fold the diamonds in half to give it that 3rd look and for a better re-fold later. Taking some school grade glue paint the diamonds and sprinkle silver and gold glitter until the entire diamond is covered. Repeat for the other diamonds. Leave to completely dry. (They will go flat because of the wet glue but will refold perfectly once dry.)
Now the original tutorial does not mention what is holding this star onto the tree. Since I seem to craft lots with recyclable materials I cut a 3rd of a toilet roll for this job. Optional glitterage, if you want on this one!
Once the diamonds are dry tap off excess glitter and refold on the pre-folded creases. Follow the hot glue gun instructions on the original tutorial and add the extra toilet roll on the back.
