With a little one that currently likes to explore EVERYTHING I decided to make her a little food grade sealable plastic bag with some color flour paint to squish.
I took one of the squares out of the foam mat and taped the sealable bag down. This was much fun for poking, so much so, my 4 year old come over to have a poke too. This resulted in him removing the tape to go amuse himself with elsewhere.
Once my 10 month old got tired of poking the bag we headed outside where I had the plastic sheet set out. It was a nice warm day and so I took all her clothing off and emptied the gooey paint out for her to really enjoy! She slapped at it, smeared it around and on herself. A very happy exploration was had!
She then got into the little splash pool we have to get any paint off and have some more fun in the water. The hose was handy while she took her nap to remove the paint from my plastic sheet.
To make some color goo paint use 1 cup Flour, 1/2 cup water and food coloring. Add a bit of dry / wet to get your desired texture. Have fun!

We tried something similar with tempera paint when ours were smaller. It is a lot of fun. I like that she got to enjoy ‘clean’ fun and then ‘messy’ fun too. Pinned it.

This looks so fun and messy! My little guy has eczema but this gooey stuff seems like it would be safe if it got all over him. Love it!
