Welcome to our second month for Project Recycle & Create!
Last month we shared a simple cardboard game and really enjoyed visiting everyone who linked up their cardboard ideas.
This month is dedicated to packaging materials, styrofoam, packing peanuts and anything of a similar materials.
For ours we decided to try some art into the mix.
I gathered 3 packing styrofoam trays, trimmed the ends off and drew pictures on them with a blunt pencil / pen.
My 4 year old also had some fun drawing.
Next was the paint. Use a very light touch when painting these as a too thick coat will not transfer the paint very well.
Then lay the paper on top of the paint covered foam, press lightly and remove to reveal your art work.
I think my 4 year old’s art came out beautifully although I do so like the butterfly.
Here is the flower and butterfly.
Once our little play with Styrofoam was over my 4 year old just had to do some track driving in the paint and transfer them onto paper. What can I say.. paint is fun
Visit my co-hosts and see what they have been up to!

I love this! It is one memory I have as a young child in art… making prints. I loved it. I think my kids would really like it too. Thank you for the inspiration to try with them 🙂

I love how this comes out! My daughter likes to draw on the Styrofoam trays sometimes but we’ve never added the cool paint effect!
