Over 4 years ago I made this very backpack! Here’s a extract from my original blog post.
We are going on a 24hour plus plane trip (with connections and all that)!! While googling entertainment I came across this article where the lady made her almost 2 year old his own backpack and stuffed things in it he had never seen for the trip. Brilliant idea!
So I searched for a free pattern, I’ve never made anything this complex! It was a real challenge and I’m so proud of the result!!
Here’s my little boy (22m) chuffed with his new backpack 😀
The Backpack is still going strong and is used on trips to town and the city, or going over to visit friends. The plane trip in question went smoother than I expected with a bag full of never before seen items!
The pattern and tutorial I used is from That Crafty Mrs. V. The tutorial was amazingly simple to follow, for making a backpack, and well laid out. Sadly I didn’t take many pictures of the creation of the backpack, but I will be updating this post in the near future when I make a toddler backpack for my little girl!
The backpack I made had an owl design and denim fabric, I also tied a red ribbon on the zipper for little hands to get it open! Have fun and do post a link below in the comments section if you make one!
