The first week of 2013 is behind us already and what a lazy week its been. Sure, I’ve done a little planning on paper for some projects i would like to see launched and accomplished this year.
I have also talked my husbands ear off about exactly how they can be implemented. He is a very good sounding board, although sometimes his eyes glaze over with the “what one earth are you talking about woman” look, when I get into the details of blogging and social media networking.
This week although “lazy”, has been full. Our extremely overly attached, always under my feet, cat Tiggy, went missing. Although it was only about 24 hours, I was still worried.
Luckily he returned the late the next evening, all purring and digging into his food with much enthusiasm. Our youngest 7 months old today is extremely fond of Tiggy, the cat, and if often found trying to use him as a teething toy or a cushion. In my opinion, he’s just asking for a mauling.
I am also sad to report we lost one of chickens to a dog wound yesterday. We noticed feathers everywhere and no chicken. My husband took a walk and said the feathers were all the way down the road, but no chicken.
A few hours later i saw her standing in the garden, breathing hard and in shock. She drank some water I offered and let me inspect her. Unfortunately the dog had pierced some vital organs and she didn’t make the evening. My 3 year old came to tell me “chicken, dead”. Strange how he can recall the word dead from the one time was told him about it months ago, when we lost the first chicken.
We had spoke to our housekeeper on Friday about some guinea pigs for the boys, she said she would see if she could get some this week. It was a lovely surprise when she arrived here this morning with two!
Our 3 year old was overjoyed and keeps checking in on them! Our 2 year old is being cautious as usual, but he is that way with all the animals, he would rather play in the dirt and mess in the garden. Although I cant say much about the garden, at the moment its a pile of weeds with many tomato bushes and rocket plants.
This week is full of learning and “do” actions. Lets hope I can keep up! Still in vacation mode!

Marie says
Ha! Your husband sounds like my husband when I go on and on about my blog!
Maybe it’s a small box but those guinea pigs look huge!
Nicolette Roux says
