This month we are upcycling some jars for our project recycle and create mission this year.
This one is rather simple and has a variety of uses from a starry night light for the kids to a decor feature at an evening party.
To make this Starry Night Light you will need
- Glass jars of your choice
- Glitter glue plus confetti of the foil kind. We were able to find an already mixed confetti glitter glue!
- A paint brush
- Tea light candles or LED tea light candles
Make sure the insides of your jars are both clean and dry before you start.
Apply generous amounts of glitter confetti glue on the inside with the paint brush trying to evenly distribute the stars.
We also made a jar with hearts confetti!
Leave the jar open to dry the glue over night. At this point if the lid of your jar is not a suitable matching color please feel free to paint it in a more pleasing color.
Once the glue is dry you are left with a clear star and glitter scene.
Now here you can tailor this starry night light to your own purpose.
For the kids add the LED tea light and screw the lid shut for a quick little night light.
For your outdoor party add real scented tea lights (citronella for those bugs) and leave the lids off. Not only will it look pretty but has a duel function!

This is so beautiful! My daughter likes taking a light to bed with her – she’d love this!
