Winter Wonderland Sensory Bin
Look below at how to make this festive and frugal winter wonderland sensory bin for yourself! It is the perfect way to spend a snowy day!
Supplies needed:
plastic bin with lid
white sand
blue gravel
assorted mini trees
plastic snowflakes
scoops and spoons
As mentioned, we could find all of these pieces at our local Dollar Store. Don’t hesitate to grab other items that may be a good fit as well!
Directions:
Begin by pouring the sand and gravel into the box. You will notice how fast it starts to look like snow and ice! You can keep them separated, or go ahead and mix them together as kids probably will.
Add in a tree line. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Just press the small trees right into the gravel.
You can now tuck in various elements like snowflakes and even plastic ornaments if you wish.
Finish the winter wonderland sensory bin by adding in spoons and scoops so kids can get to work!
Your winter wonderland sensory bin is now ready to be enjoyed! Let kids move the pieces around, pile up the “snow” and even create a full blown blizzard if they wish! You can always add small plastic animals or even a mini sled if you want.
When you are done, simply put the lid on the container and everything will stay safe until you are ready to use it again. Create your own winter wonderland sensory bin this winter and see what fun a snowy day can be!
