Learning about our bodies is an important thing for children to learn. There are songs like Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, but that only gives a few of the many body parts. There are body parts from all the way down from the brain to the toes.
Not only is important for the purpose for the being able to label our body parts, but also for little movers to be able to be their best at body control and movement control. This can also help prevent challenges and insecurities later in life.
A Fun Matching Game For Learning Body Parts
When children are learning about and discovering their bodies, it is beneficial for us to label and pinpoint the actual body parts. This can be done with a textbook style but this can also be done with fun games like this Body Parts Matching Game!
The is a simple activity that requires very little prep for you. Children will be engaged while identifying and matching the location of each body part.
The only supplies you need to make this activity happen is
Printer
Scissors
Lamination (Optional)
To prep this activity you can start by printing the game on paper.
Cut each of the body part cards out.
Next you can choose to laminate. I prefer to laminate because it preserves the life of the activity. If your kids are like mine, this game could get crinkled or ripped in one round. Laminating can prevent this from happening, at least for a long while.
Check out these playdough activities!
To play the game, the first thing to do is pick a boy or girl body mat.
Mix up the cards and divide cards up between players.
Place picture of girl/boy in the middle.
Take turns to point to the picture with a pen while eyes are closed.
Whoever has the body part card that is being pointed at can place the card back on the heap.
Whoever has no cards left wins.
Doesn’t that sound fun?
Strengthen fine motor skills with this exciting activity!
Alternative Ideas
Obviously you can play however you would like with this game, but a few other ideas include:
- You could print multiple body part cards and play with a traditional matching game style.
- For children that need more of an introduction, you could place the body mat in front of the child. Pick a body part card and ask the child to point to the correct spot on the body part mat.
- Place the body part mat in front of the child and ask them to pick a body part card. Ask them to place the body part cards onto the mat where they belong.

Hello,
Sorry to hear our emails aren’t getting through. Almost all of the time, it’s an issue with the destination’s email security filters. School boards can sometimes see us as spam. Once you enter an email, the download should also begin. Again, some school networks restrict downloads as well. The best recommendation I have is to contact the network’s IT to whitelist powerfulmothering.com emails and/or downloads.
We can also email you a copy if you’d like but that sometimes runs into the same issues mentioned above.
Let us know how else we can help get you your printable!

Hello, sometimes emails get filtered out by your organization’s filters. Were you able to download the printable? If not, I will gladly email you a copy and hopefully that will get around any filters or spam.

Hi Shari, sorry for the difficulty, it sounds like you may need a PDF viewer that can open and print files with a .pdf extension. Hope this helps!
