10 Ways to Refresh Yourself as a Homeschooling Mom
1 – Take a warm bath
Is there anything better than taking a warm bath? I think not! As a busy homeschooling mom, this is the perfect way to refresh yourself. Wait until the kids are in bed, so you have even more time to relax and stay calm. Add in a bath bomb or bath salts and remember the idea is to refresh yourself!
2 – Spend time reading your favorite book
If you love to read, but haven’t picked up a book in ages, it may be time to do so. Reading is a great way to escape reality, in a good way. You may love your life, but it’s okay to immerse yourself in a fantasy world from time to time.
3 – Take the kids to the park, while you give yourself a break
The kids are running throughout the house and driving you crazy. They are bored with everything in the house, so now there’s only one solution. You grab a coffee and take the kids to the park and give yourself a break. If your kids are old enough, you can let them be independent at the park. This may not be ideal if you have smaller children and have to chase them everywhere.
4 – Ask the family to clean the house, while you rest
Think about this, as a homeschooling mom, you are probably running throughout the house cleaning. You’re busy homeschooling during the day and you may also have a job. With all this in mind, it’s more than okay to ask the family to clean the house, while you rest! This can help you know which chores we have our kids do.
5 – Wake up early and drink a cup of coffee on the porch
What’s stopping you from waking up early and getting stuff done? Wake up early and enjoy your favorite beverage before the kids wake up. It’s amazing how much smoother the day will go whenever you feel like you’ve had time to yourself. Give it a try and see how well you do!
6 – Spend time talking on the phone to someone who uplifts you
A lot of us have friends that are super draining. However, you don’t have to let them ruin your day and drag you down even more. Spend time talking on the phone to someone who uplifts you and makes you feel better about life. Let them speak life into you, instead of draining you. You do have the power to speak to people who make you feel better in life, not worse. This is a great way to refresh yourself as a homeschooling mom.
7 – Do a face mask
Have you ever done a face mask? They are super inexpensive and don’t take up a lot of your time. A face mask if the perfect way to get in some extra you time and refresh yourself. The face is the first place you can see stress and that you’re tired. A face mask can refresh your face and your mind!
8 – Write a letter
How many times have you taught your kid how to write a letter? Why not write a letter yourself? It’s a good idea to keep up on your writing skills, but it’s also a great way to refresh yourself! Write a letter to your spouse or an old friend. Imagine how awesome they will feel when they get a letter in the mail!
9 – Take a walk
There is so much pressure to exercise, that it just feels like one more thing we need to get done. A walk can be something that you use to refresh yourself. You don’t have to go a certain distance and you can just enjoy the time to think!
