My children love to explore things! I made this super easy Chia pocket / sensory bag for my 12 month old and my 6 year old totally loved it too!
To make the chia sensory bag you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of chia
- 2 cups of water
- 1 gallon resealable plastic zip bag
- duct tape (optional)
Open your sealable plastic bag and pour in the chia and water. Zip the bag closed and leave to stand 30 min. Best results are leaving it overnight in fridge. Your chia at this point has absorbed the water and become all gel like.
Open your sealable bag and then close it again trying to get out as much air as you can. At this point you can optionally duct tape the opening closed to avoid the accidental opening by children.
The chia gel makes a great medium to make prints in either by poking with the finger or pressing an entire hand down.
All in all it is just a super amount of fun to poke at! I couldn’t resist joining in the fun!
We could even part the chia!
I managed to capture a few moments of play with the chia sensory bag. Take a look!
(and if you are wondering that is cloud dough the kids are playing with in the background of the video, hence the little bit of floury hands!)
