This is a fun color mixing activity that toddlers and preschoolers will love. They get to explore the primary colors with their senses, including their busy little hands and find out what happens when the colors combine with the help of some cute little mice. Give your little hands a fun Color Exploring Mouse Paint Activity to keep them busy.
Color Exploring Mouse Paint Activity
You will need:
- 3 white plastic mice
- Red, yellow, and blue craft paint
- White construction paper
Pour one of each color paint into a plate-red, yellow, blue.
Place a mouse on each plate.
Encourage your child to stamp their mouse in the colors then on the paper.
Ask them what happens when their mice jump into red
And then yellow, blue and yellow, red and blue, etc…
Explain to them that we get most of our colors from combinations of these 3 primary colors.
Ask them to create specific colors by mixing their mice in the paints to help reinforce it.
Add fresh paint as needed, I recommend investing in a plastic tablecloth, dropcloth, or shower curtain liner to place under your painting area- especially with toddlers.
