A few months back I bought our first stack of pipe cleaners and in my efforts to become a more hands on mom I have been getting down on the floor more and more with the kids to play.
First up just general exploring of this new material. Fuzzy and bendy, got it. O look a basket with holes in it, well that didn’t take too long!
The pipe cleaners then got bent and made into loops and slid along straighter ones.
A rather lazy cat got some bunny ears cause you know, mom likes to play too and the kids didn’t want headbands on their heads! This produced some giggles.
The youngest (around 10 months here) also explored the textures as well as the kitten.
Who we very fast discovered liked to chase the pipe cleaners that the youngest moved around, resulting in many more giggles.
Sometimes just exploring the new materials we buy for play can be just as rewarding. This also goes for even older materials or well used materials that can be used in open play.

It looks like they had a great time exploring pipe cleaners.
