Have you ever painted with Q-tips? This can be done with children as young as toddlers, but preschoolers will particularly enjoy it! Kids will be able to follow these printable templates and create perfect Q-Tip Painting Easter art!
Q-Tip Painting Easter Art
Q-tip painting is a fantastic art activity for preschoolers. Not only is it a fun and different way to put paint onto the paper, which is exciting in itself, but it allows kids to strengthen fine motor skills in a super easy way!
Since q-tips are thinner, it is a little bit more challenging to pick up than say a pencil or typical paint brush. This is so helpful for strengthening the finger muscles that allow children to write with a pencil, zip a zipper or tie their shoes.
The process of dipping the q-tip in the paint and then dabbing onto the paper is also a fine motor strengthening activity.
These printable templates will also help children recognize and explore color, which is fabulous for their creativity and art skills.

How To Use These Printable Templates
First grab q-tips and your favorite paint to use with your kids. Print these templates and you will be ready to get started.
This set includes a handful of fun designs including:
– Bunny Ears
– Sun
– Easter Basket
– Easter Egg
– Baby Chick
Each one will explore a different combination of colors. These include:
– Pink
– Orange
– Yellow
– Brown
– Blue
As you can see, each picture has white dots. This is where your child can fill up the q-tip with that color of paint and dab it onto the white circle. They are essentially finishing the Easter drawings. This is a form of directed drawing, but it’s painting instead.
Kids will love this fun painting activity. If your children need more of a challenge, show them the picture and ask them to paint one of their own that matches, or is inspired by the original.
