What Are Ordinal Numbers?
Ordinal numbers are how we describe something’s position in a series. This means first, second, or third and on up. At first it is okay to teach just a few or 1-10, but there are really infinite ordinal numbers.
It is important for us to make sure that our children understand the concept of ordinal numbers because we really do use them in our daily lives. We use these when describing what order we want to do activities, who will go where in a line or when describing the process of doing something, like getting dressed or making a sandwich.
All of these ordinal number activity printables are super simple to prep. All you really have to do is print them. Once they are printed, have your child get their favorite writing utensil and get started.
If you would like to use these printables more than once, you can laminate or use a dry erase pocket. These will protect the paper but also allow you to use over and over. This is a great alternative if you are a teacher. These would make great center activities.
