I have always wanted to make a quiet book so this year for my toddlers 2nd birthday I made her one!
Now I could have used the sewing machine to make this quiet book but for some reason I am totally not in the mood to sew much of anything lately! So my solution is my lovely HOT GLUE GUN!
I think this tutorial is great for moms who would love to make a quiet book but can’t sew and I hope that what ever your skill level you find some useful ideas in the page tutorials below!

Hi There,
Please can you let me know where you bought the Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet. Did you also use the Kurio tablet as well?
Thanks
Sashen

these simply look amazing, I am so impressed and also simple to make without sewing. Even I don’t like sewing 🙂

Have you by chance tried machine washing your book? I’m wondering if washed in cold water in a delicates bag and then hung up to dry if it would hold together well and for a long time.
Thanks!
Nicolette Roux says
I have actually washed it twice already! The video I made was after a year of use and a wash. The items held together well and did not part from their hot glue.

Hi, Nicolette! I am in the process of making this quiet book for my 2 year old and I just wanted to send a big THANK YOU. I am one of those moms with no sewing machine and an industrial sized glue gun. I never thought I could make a quiet book and was looking into buying one when I saw your blog on it. I have followed your ideas for the most part, adding or eliminating pages to make it more customized to my baby girl, but I know I could not have done it without your guidance. I am making this book because I am expecting another baby girl in one month and thought this would be a great gift for becoming a big sister. Plus it is a whole book of activities we can do together even though I might not be able to do more active/messy things for a short time.
Overall, your blog, emails, everything you do, is amazing and I am learning and growing with your guidance. Thank you again for helping all us moms be better than we thought we could be.

Thank you so much! I love hearing how little ones and their moms enjoy the ideas I share 🙂 Congratulations on your new baby too! The quiet book will make a great gift!

how do you make sure the velcro isn’t pulled of the fabric when kids tear the fabric items out of the book? I can imagine that, because of the type of fabric, the glue won’t hold it properly for much longer than 3 uses. Should I use super glue for the velcro?
Nicolette Roux says
On each page where I explain in detail HOW to make the book you will see in the instructions that I use hot glue on the velcro dots as well. That glue it comes with is for smooth surfaces. It will not hold on felt. Use hot glue

Hi,
This looks fun, but I am confused on how the loose felt parts stick to the pages? Do we need to spray them with some sort of adhesive?
Thanks,
Angie

I just LOVE this idea! I have a very cheap sewing machine that would never make it through felt–i love that you use a hot glue gun (definitely have one of those!) My daughter turned two last month and I think this would be such a great activity for her. Pinning this and sharing it! THANK YOU! 🙂
