This weeks fine motor idea is a really simple one. We get to line loose parts up and sort them by type.
First thing to do is find some loose parts!
I had some gorgeous blue glass pebbles and a variety of spring themed flower / leaf gems. You can use just about anything for your loose parts. Try pom poms, pebbles, beads, buttons and small toys even.
Select your surface. I have a table painted with DIY chalk paint so I have used this surface. You can use a larger sheet of paper, flattened out cardboard box even your pavement!
Draw various patterns on your surface. Squiggles, lines, spirals and flowers.
The children then trace the line by lining up their loose parts. For our flowers we filled in the petals with the loose parts.
I love how gorgeous this activity turned out.
Quick and easy fine motor fun!
The kids can even draw their own shapes to line things on.
Love it? Pin it!
