My first try at making anything red velvet related in baking.
Not too bad for my first try at making some red velvet cheesecake brownies. I saw this recipe on Pinterest and it looked really simple.
Update: The recipe is no longer available on the blog I saw it on. Please use this even yummier Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies Recipe instead.
Its anything but simple! You have to make this in 3 sections.
First you mix the dry ingredients, then the wet, add them together, remove a cup, mix the cheese cake bit, thin out the cup removed by adding some milk.
I must have used way too much flour, I tend to do this, it was rather thick. It didn’t fit into my tray so I got out 4 of these little round trays and used the extra in there.
Then got everything mixed up and poured into the tray and pie molds (grease the trays) and into the oven it went. I think I overcooked the tray one as the base went a bit hard in some places.
It tasted good, but not as good as I was dreaming of.
The red velvet cheesecake brownies were also sticky and moist, not a bad thing I guess.
I also gave my DIY cookie cutter a go on this, even with all the stickiness it cut out a heart.
I think I will stick to my chocolate cake recipe, it comes out light and fluffy. I am still however on the lookout for a divine cheesecake recipe.

I made red velvet cupcakes, but I tried to make them blue to look like the tardis for a Doctor Who themed birthday party. They tasted super floury though. Cheesecake icing was delicious!

That cookie cutter is great! I love cheesecake but I’ve never made one before. I always have the opposite problem with my flour, that my batter/dough is always sticky and I have to add more.
