Make a Paper Cup Noisemaker Craft with the Kids
Here is how to get started making your own paper cup noisemaker craft for kids.
Materials you will need:
two paper cups
tape, either clear or decorative washi tape
dried beans, dried pasta, rice, or small stones
markers or paint
When decorating your noisemakers, you can use anything you wish. For ours, we used markers, but you can use paint, stickers, or even felt cut outs if you wish. You can make them as intricate or simple as you see fit!
Directions:
Begin by decorating your two paper cups. As mentioned above you can do this anyway you wish. Make them bright and colorful, or keep the decor simple.
Now, you can begin pouring some of the dried ingredients into one cup. You can add dry rice, beans, dry pasta, or even small stones. Mix and match these ingredients however you wish. You want to add about two tablespoons of the ingredients into the cup.
Place the second cup on top of the ingredients cup so they are mouth to mouth. Use your tape to seal the two cups together securely. Make sure you seal them well so your ingredients don’t fall out.
Once the two cups are sealed together, you can start making some noise! When you shake the cup the ingredients will make all sorts of fun noises. The harder you shake the cups, the louder the sounds will get.
Try using your paper cup noisemakers in a variety of ways. You can make soft sounds, loud sounds, fast sounds, slow pouring sounds, and so much more. Try playing along with music, both fast and slow.
Gather your supplies and give this simple paper cup noisemaker craft for kids a try. It is a fun and creative way to experiment with sound. If you have a baby at home, come see how we made noisemakers for babies.
