Making ornaments with your kids can be such fun! We love to decorate in our own styles and color tastes.
Below is an exciting adventure waiting to happen! Make this Christmas tree ornament.
You will need:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of salt
- 1 cup of water
- Washable markers
- A pen
- Bakers twine
- Christmas tree cookie cutter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine flour and salt in a medium bowl.
Mix to combine.
Add 1/2 cup of water. Begin mixing.
Add remaining water in small increments. Your dough should be the consistency of play dough; soft to touch and not sticky. If needed sprinkle more flour in until the dough does not stick to your hands.
Roll the dough out. Using a Christmas tree cookie cutter, form the shape of the ornament.
Using the end of an ink pen, punch a hole in the top of the ornament. With washable markers, decorate the ornament as desired. Place ornament(s) in a baking dish.
Bake for about 30 minutes in a 400 degree oven, checking to make sure the dough doesn’t burn around the 20 minute mark. Allow the ornament to cool before removing from the baking dish.
Thread twine through the hole to hang and display.
