Are you working on shapes with your preschooler or elementary-age child? We typically start with the basics. This can include square, rectangle, triangle, and circle. There are many more shapes, though, that are equally important.
There are many ways that you can teach shapes, but visually in an engaging way is the best, in my opinion. That is where games like this Apple Shape Matching Card Game comes in. It is fun, engaging and will absolutely help teach the names and visual ques of the shapes.

Learning shapes is important for future skills in math, including geometry. The next step is to laminate the pieces. This is optional but I suggest doing so if you wish to keep this activity around for a while.
You can choose how many different shape strips you would like to include in the game. For children who are just beginning, only a few might be best. For those children who need an extra challenge, you could add as many as all of them.
Mix the pieces around, so they are all jumbled up.
Have the child connect the like pieces together to create the matching strips.
It is that simple, but it is FUN!
