Is it time for your kids to learn about shapes? Or practice shapes? These shapes worksheets for preschool are perfect for really diving deep into each shape. These activities will help children identify the shapes, draw the shapes and find the shapes in their environment.
Printable Shape Worksheets
There are 8 different shapes included in this set. They are:
Circle
Square
Triangle
Rectangle
Oval
Heart
Star
Pentagon
These are the 8 most common shapes that preschoolers and kindergarteners will learn.
Each page is focused on one particular shape, but the ideas are the same for each shape.
First, there is a large shape with the shape name, this helps children start each shape worksheet knowing which shape is being focused on. Then there is a real-life example of that shape. For instance, for the square, there is a dice and for the pentagon, there is a dog house.
Next, there is a shape tracing section. It starts with thick dotted lines so that children can really get a feel for the shape and then tapers off to fewer dots until there is just an empty space. This is going to allow children to draw the shape 4 times, each time with less assistance.

Find and Color
Next is a find and color section. Children will need to find the shape in focus and color it, leaving the rest of the picture uncolored.
Then there is another find and color, but this time there are four different objects from real life. They will color the ones that resemble a pentagon, the rest they will leave blank.
For these last two find and color, if kids want to color all the pictures – choose one color for the correct shape and an additional color for the wrong shapes.

All you will need to prep this activity is to print the worksheets and then provide coloring utensils for the children.
