It’s that time of the year! Christmas rush, glittering trees full of tinsel, and Christmas cake full of various raisins, dates, cherries and dried fruits. For the second year now we will not be seeing any of the grandparents over the festive season, mainly for the fact that we now live on another continent!
Time to start some new family traditions? Hopefully next year will see some as my oldest will be more “into” it. I love the idea Heidi wrote of in her journal entry on wrapping 24 books up and sticking them under the tree, maybe we will do that next year too!
This year only my youngest took part in a gift exchange on her birth board on Facebook and yesterday was opening day! There was a lot of excitement for some new “loot” as we like to refer to it. The days of World of Warcraft before the arrival of babies.
As you can see by the pictures she is very happy with said loot, and is currently chewing down on one of the “arms” of that lamb. The books are also very nice to look at with her and there are feel areas for sensory. What an awesome gift! I have also learned that the little girl who received the gift I sent is also very pleased! Happy happy all the way around!
We are only putting up a tiny tree, I fear we will see a repeat of last year, the tree barely survived! It has no feet left so I am going to be getting creative! I had to purchase a whole new set of decor, lights and tinsel! This year I will try my best to get the boys to leave it alone! I can wish. My lovely huge tree is still packed up in boxes waiting to be shipped over the ocean.
On some other news we now have half a chicken coop built! If you missed my post on the chickens or just want to check our chickens out, here they are. Lots of pictures in my next update!
