My 4 year old has been sitting next to me using the playdough mat and playing for hours on end.
Today I went to look around for more amazing free playdough mats so I could print those out for our collection and here is what I found!
Orchard math playdough mats, this will go great with my 5 year olds love for apples as well as a great intro to counting for my 2 year old. (see my notes at the bottom of this post for alternatives to using a laminator as there are a few pages to this one)
Speaking of flowers how about these spring-themed playdough mats. The butterfly I think I will be playing with myself! This Reading Mama also has a summer collection of playdough mats for open-ended play.
Tutus and Tea Parties has a a few playdough mats but I have printed the Bunny as well as the Bug one for my collection.
Playdough Letter Mats
This Reading Mama has a beautiful collection of Alphabet Playdough letter Mats.
A quick DIY you can make yourself is to go into a program like word and type your child’s name and make the name as large as you can on the paper and print that for some name practice! They can then use it as a playdough mat is you laminate it.
3 Dinosaurs has a great collection of free Shape playdough mats
Get creative like Anna from The Imagination Tree and make your own Play Dough Learning Mats for Literacy and Numeracy Development.
I don’t have a laminator! Help!
Now the easiest is to just laminate all these pages but sometimes one doesn’t have a laminator!
(Try keep an eye on this beauty on amazon, it goes on sale often and has awesome reviews!)
1. Use contact paper! Stick the contact paper over the front flip it over and stick to the back creating a sealed playdough mat.
2. Use plastic sleeves. You know those ones in your ring binders. Tape the opening closed with strong tape.
3. Use these draw and wipe sleeves. These are meant for writing on with dry erase pens but sometimes you get a set you want to use but there are so many pages. Just slip them in and out of this.
Pin this awesome collection of free playdough mats for later!
