These spooky halloween themed counting cards are perfect for the season! Even though we do not celebrate halloween in our house children have a natural curiosity towards skeletons, witches and other spooky things.
Halloween Puzzle Set
The counting cards feature both number and the word for the number for name recognition.
Each pair also has a different character and number. The piece pairs in this activity go from 1 to 20. This is perfect for children just beginning to learn counting and those who may need a little extra challenge.
The Halloween characters included in this set are:
You don’t need very many supplies to prep this puzzle at all.
The first step is to print the pages.
Next, cut out each of the puzzle pieces individually then laminate.
You could also laminate then cut but this never seems to work properly for me. Does it for you? Share your tricks with me!!
After they are laminated and cut, it is time to play.
If your child is just beginning to learn the counting process, you can start with only numbers 1-5. If your child is ready for a challenge, go with 1-20.
You can play in many different ways.
Set up the number of pieces on one side and mix up the picture piece on the other side of the table. Have the child pick one and move and connect it to the right piece.
Our favorite way is to turn the puzzle pieces upside down, pick two and see if they match. If not, put them back. Repeat until you find a match. When you find a match, connect them and put them to the side.
We LOVE these Rainbow Name Puzzles!
