Making Taste Safe Mud For Sensory Play
This activity is simple to set up and your kids will love it! The supplies that you’ll need are
plastic bin with lid

small tin pie plates
red and pink pom poms(cherries!)
spoons, scoops, and plastic cutlery
Begin by preparing a batch of taste safe clean mud. This taste safe recipe is perfect for kids and won’t cause a problem should they decide to get the mud pie near their mouth!
Place the taste safe clean mud in your plastic bin or container. This container is a great way to contain the pies, and can be easily covered when not in use.
Add in the small tin pie plates as well as pom poms, plastic cutlery, and if you wish, cookie cutters.

Mold the dough into the pie tin. You can then use the cutlery and cookie cutters to create designs on the pie. Let kids get as creative as they wish! You can even “pinch” a crust around the pie, giving it a realistic look and design.
Top the mud pies with cherries! Simply place the pom poms on top of the pie and push into place.
You can then take your mud pies apart and create something new. Enjoy this taste safe clean mud for hours, and simply place it in the container and cover with the lid when not in use. The lid will help keep it fresh so you can play with it over and over.
