Pete the cat is one of my 4 year olds favorite characters and we often love to read the books and do pete the cat activities based on the books. Pete the cat is so popular with kids that there is a whole series of books!
Each book has a moral to the story with colorful illustrations and a catchy tune / theme that makes kids want to read them over and over again.
Personally I am glad there are many pete the cat books it also gives me a break reading the same book over and over again! My daughter particularly loves the books that say “oh, NO!”

About Pete the Cat Books
There are 3 main books with many extras such as a Christmas, Thanksgiving, robot, old mac Donald theme type books. The early reader pack is also great for well early readers! See every pete the cat book here.
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes
Pete goes for a walk in his new white shoes and then “oh, NO!” he steps in something that changes the color of his shoes. This book is great with a few color learning questions. The moral of this story is that no matter what you step in just keep walking along and singing your song.
The Publishers site also offers a digital reading of this book and my kids love to hear the song sang. It will also give you the tune for when you read it!
Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons
Pete puts on his favorite jacket with 4 buttons, these buttons tend to pop off during the day “oh, NO!” The moral of this story is that stuff will come and go, but do we cry? goodness, no! we keep on singing.
This book also has the digital reading and song on the publishers site.
Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes
Pete discovers the library, the lunchroom, the playground, and lots of other cool places at school. And no matter where he goes, Pete never stops moving and grooving and singing his song . . . because it’s all good.
Yet another with the song on the publishers site.
