My youngest is currently at that age where everything is either being unpacked or packed into stuff.
My husband bought the rare can of pringles the other day and as a mom who is always reusing things in the crafty ways of play, I thought this would make a great container. Any long can will do, so use what you have!
I made this after the kids went to bed. It took a while as the string I choose was very thin, so depending on your choice of yarn / string, it can either be fast or take some time.
I used the school grade glue the kids use and just basically applied glue to the can and wrapped it around and around till it was all covered. It dried while we slept that night and was ready for play that very morning.
I had originally intended the can to be unpacked. No such luck, little miss likes to pack things away more than unpack. (I am hoping this continues into the teen years) So I emptied all the craft sticks out and she happily put them back into the can one by one and I emptied them out again.
For an added challenge if your little one is a bit older you can cut slits in the lids for a more confined “posting” activity. I still use the can as storage for the craft sticks so did not make any holes in the lid.
