Is your preschooler excited for St. Patrick’s Day? I know my kids are excited every year and we have so much fun with this simple holiday. We could simply dress up in green and be good, but we like to take things to the next level sometimes.
To do this, I like to incorporate holidays into our themes for preschool, so we’re bringing in the St. Patrick’s Day Preschool Pack for this March holiday.
St. Patrick’s Day Preschool Pack
Incorporating holidays into our preschool is a super easy way to ensure that children are engaged. When they see a holiday themed activity, they are stoked and they are ready to ‘play’, even though they will be learning a lot!
This St. Patrick’s Day Preschool Pack is filled with fun learning activities.
St. Patrick’s Day Pick and Cover
This is a fun number recognition game. Print the activities out, cut out the number cards and grab some gold coins.
Kids will pick a number card, then place a gold coin on the shamrock that holds that number. This is great for number sense (recognizing difference between written number and numeral) as well as visual discrimination.
We LOVE These Rainbow Activities.
Fine Motor Rainbow
Fine motor skills are incredibly important for children to practice and strengthen. The muscles that are strengthened with fine motor activities are ones that help children successfully tie their shoes, hold a pencil or zip a zipper, among other things. This Fine Motor Rainbow is a fun way to help strengthen those muscles with a St. Patrick’s Day theme! Print off the packet, grab some pom poms and get playing!
Rainbow Letter Tracing
Prewriting activities are important for preschoolers. This Rainbow Prewriting activity is a super simple way to help children focus on each letter of the alphabet individually. If you laminate each page, you can use these activities over and over throughout the year. If you laminate, use dry erase markers, otherwise any writing utensil will work.

Number Sense Mats
Learning all about numbers is more than just learning to count. These mats will help teach kids all about the various parts of a number. This includes tracing the numeral, seeing and coloring in the number word, as well as counting gold coins. You can also use play dough to add a fine motor twist to it and roll out playdough for the counting portion.
All of these St. Patrick’s Day activities are super fun for preschoolers and have benefits for them. These will help them learn important skills that all preschoolers need.
