It seems like the fall and winter months give us so many sensory box ideas, but once February hits we hit a rut. The good news is, there are still plenty of fun sensory box ideas you can enjoy during the month. Look below at how to craft your own February sensory box for kids, so you can have some hands on fun while you wait for spring! Here is how to get started!
Red & Pink Themed Sensory Bin For February
Here is what you will need for your sensory box:
a white filler such as sand, mini rocks, or sugar
conversation hearts, plastic or real
mini felt hearts
red, pink, and purple pom poms, pipe cleaners and accessories such as felt hearts
scoops, cups, spoons, funnels
shoe box or plastic shoe box with lid

Begin by filling the box ½ way full with your white filler of choice.
Add in the plastic conversation hearts, mini felt hearts, pom poms, and pipe cleaners all in the colors of Valentine’s Day.
Add in your scoops, spoons, and other items you can manipulate the contents with.
Since February has 28 days, you can place 28 pennies in the box. February is also the month of President’s Day, so pennies are appropriate!
Allow children to manipulate the items in the box and enjoy flexing those fine motor skills. When you are done, simply place the lid back on the box and store for later. Easy peasy!
Focus on the themes of February when building your box, such as Groundhog’s Day, President’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and more.
Give kids some fun hands on time when you craft this February sensory box. It is a fun way to stay active during the month while exploring the themes of February!
